We have found and utilized a game that transforms review in our classrooms! This game, Kahoot.it, allows you to assess each student with questions you have made (or found using their public search engine) in an exciting game format. Students will need a device (phone, tablet, laptop) and they will need to login to the website using a pin that you give them. Students can then pick from multiple choice answers. Once all the students select an answer, they are shown their ranking amongst those who played. The screen you can project displays a bar graph demonstrating which answers were chosen, allowing for you to discuss the question and the answers with the students! This immediate feedback is instantly helpful to the students! The next projected screen shows the top five scorers (you have to be fast AND correct!), instilling a sense of competitiveness into the most apathetic student! My students LOVE this game and beg to play it over and over! After using Educanon and Kahoot together, I have had a TWENTY point gain in assessments for my lowest performing students! AND it is FREE!!! I'm excited to see the very students that rarely get involved suddenly being bummed out when they do not select the right answer OR - even better - super pumped about having the right answer. This game definitely makes ALL students engaged, while thinking and being excited about learning! I am certainly going to be playing it again!!!!
